Di Donato takes us inside the heart and mind of Italian prime minister, Aldo Moro, and his family in the agonizing days during Moro's captivity by the Red Brigade before his execution. Rough draft of a 1960 telegram Di Donato sent to the governor of California pleading for Carol Chessman to be spared from going to the gas chamber. Governor Edmund Brown (Jerry Brown's father) did NOT give him a reprieve - he died days later in the gas chamber at San Quinton, Ca. - fantastic archival item, hand written in soft pencil, based on his Maria Goretti biography, "The Penitent" which he was working on at the time.
